DrumometerTM Exercises |
|
Here is a simple accuracy test that I set up with the DrumometerTM. I set the built in metronome to 150 BPM and played sextuplets for each beat for 10 seconds. The DrumometerTM stops recording strokes after exactly ten seconds has past. If my accuracy is correct I should end up with exactly 150 strokes when the count down is over.
Here is the math broken down.
150 BPM * 6 (sextuplets) = 900 strokes/minute.
900 strokes / 60 second = 15 strokes/second.
10 seconds * 15 strokes = 150 strokes.
Flat flams are simply making both sticks land at exactly the same time. If the sticks come down on the pad at the same time the DrumometerTM will register only one stroke. The DrumometerTM can be used as a tool to find out if your sticks are landing together or not. If the sticks were to flam the DrumometerTM would register two separate strokes instead of one. Again I set the metronome for 150 BPM and play flat flams for ten seconds. I know I have done it accurately when the score reads exactly 75 strokes.
